Three shapes cover almost every ticket in Serbia: the single, the combination and the system. They are not degrees of ambition. They are different products, and the choice between them decides how much of the ticket has to come in.
One selection
One selection, one price, settled by itself. It is the dullest ticket and the easiest to judge, because the only question is whether the price beats your estimate of the chance. All of reading odds applies directly and nothing compounds.
The combination
Several selections on one ticket, prices multiplied, and every one of them has to win. The multiplication is what attracts people to it and it is also the trap: the prices multiply, and so do the ways to lose.
Four selections at 1,50 each make a price of 5,06. If each one is genuinely a 67 per cent chance, all four land 20 per cent of the time — so a fair price would be near 5,00 and the ticket is roughly honest. Add four more at the same price and the combined chance falls to about 4 per cent while the margin on every single leg is charged again. A long combination is not a braver version of the same opinion — it is a stack of margins.
The system
A system ticket splits the selections into every combination of a chosen size and stakes each one separately. Pick six, play 4 of 6, and the ticket becomes fifteen four-folds — two of the six can miss and it still pays.

A system buys survival and pays for it in stake. A 4 of 6 at 100 RSD a line puts 1.500 RSD at risk to insure a ticket that as a straight six-fold would have cost 100 RSD. That trade is worth making when you are confident about most of a group and not about which member will let you down — it is not a way to fit more selections on.
Which to use, and when
- You hold one clear opinion. Play a single. Adding selections to reach a bigger number is how a good opinion is diluted.
- Several opinions, all strong, modest stake. A short combination: three or four legs, not nine.
- You like a group as a group. A system, sized so the total stake is one you would have bet anyway.
